Moving Parts – Forms of the Kinetic

9 March – 26 June 2005

In the opening section, works by Yaacov Agam, Pol Bury, Gerhard von Graevenitz, Hans Haacke, Rebecca Horn, Stephan von Huene, Piotr Kowalski, Bruce Nauman, Jesus Rafaël Soto, Jean Tinguely, Guenther Uecker, Krysztof Wodiczko and many others prove the relevance of kinetics for the development of art from the mid 20th century until today.

A selection of contemporary artists working in the field of machine art were commissioned to produce works for the second part of the exhibition, in which interesting projects by Thomas Baumann, Julien Berthier, Malachi Farrell, Jeppe Hein, Wendy Jacob, Fernando Palma Rodriguez, Sabrina Raaf and Christiaan Zwanikken are presented.

The aim of the exhibition is to define the condition of machine art at the beginning of the 21st century.
