VIDEOS | Experiencing culture with impaired mobility

How does a visit to a museum feel for someone who is unable to stand for very long? What kind of difficulties do people in wheelchairs who enjoy culture have to contend with? What are their tips for others like them intending to visit Museum Tinguely?

Two people with impaired mobility share their perspectives in the two following videos with you.

ONLINE Inclusion day 2020

In order to protect our visitors and all persons involved we renounced to carry out our Inclusion day on 8 November 2020 on site. While the mobility of everyone was reduced again (due to second wave Covid-19), the audience is invited to experience two offers online:

Guided tour by Hitzi through «Taro Izumi. ex»

The young wheelchair-bound photographer Hitzi takes you on a virtual through the exhibition Taro Izumi. ex (2.9.-15.11.2020) sharing his personal perspective (in Swiss German with German subtitles).

DIY | Ball path in the plexi box

Instead of being locked behind plexi glass like the Billard balls by Taro Izumi - Cloud (licking the air) -, the tiny ball will be able to move around funnily in your balltrack. Finally, the path through the plexi box, which for once celebrates limited mobility, brings us back to the eraser track on the floor of Izumi's show and his work Cloud (goodbye).

A limited number of DIY sets can be bought or ordered from the Museum Tinguely Shop.
