Winter Magic in Front of the Museum Tinguely!

Jean Tinguely's fountain Schwimmwasserplastik (1980) (Floating Sculpture)  is not in fact able to float at all. Its centre of gravity is simply too high for that. Presented initially at the Wenkenpark in Riehen as part of the international exhibition - Sculptures of the 20th Century - in 1980, it is now installed at Solitude Park in front of the Museum Tinguely, where it has become the museum's hidden landmark. In icy weather especially, it makes an arresting sepctacle for visitors.
