Collaborative Projects
Under Collaborative Projects we present extraordinary student works that were developed after a workshop in the Museum Tinguely and finished in the respective institute as an integral part of their projects.

First Year Visual Arts Practice students from the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology engaging in project work at the Jean Tinguely Museum, Basel, Switzerland 2012
The School of Creative Arts is one of three schools located in the Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
The drawing machine project is one of the key projects designed to introduce the student to the skill base required for developing and processing ideas from a 2D plan towards a 3D outcome.
As a component of the drawing machine project a field trip to the Tinguely Museum was organized. The museum was chosen as it is a unique repository of kinetic and experimental artworks that explore 3-d time based, non- object making and process based practices, which are relevant to the experimental nature and design of the course projects operating on the 1st year BA in Visual Arts Practice. Of particular interest are the crossover possibilities between art /architecture/ spatial design and material design.
On completion of the drawing machine project it was clearly evident the impact the field trip had had on the students as demonstrated by the quality and diversity of work they produced.
