On the occasion of our main autumn exhibition « Taro Izumi. ex » we cordially invite you to
a press preview of the exhibition on Monday, 31 August 2020, 4-6 pm.
The artist will be present.
Roland Wetzel, Director of Museum Tinguely, will welcome you at 4:45 pm. The welcome address will be followed by a guided tour of the show with the curator Séverine Fromaigeat and the artist.
«ex» is a chance for visitors to immerse themselves in the quirky, mischief-filled world of Japanese artist Taro Izumi (born 1976 in Nara). On view from September 2 until November 15 it is Izumi's first major solo exhibition in Switzerland. The unique creative universe unfolded for «Taro Izumi. ex» is an organic ecosystem that does not fit neatly into any established artistic category. Sculpture, installation, performance, video and sometimes even the architectural surroundings themselves are closely combined. The show is accompanied by a comprehensive catalogue that, for the first time, provides a thorough description of Izumi's work.
