Dear media representatives
As part of our jubilee programme «25 Years of Moving Art» Museum Tinguely is ready to embark on a very special journey. Under the motto "Museum Tinguely AHOY!" the MS Evolutie will sail through Basel with Tinguely's unique Schwimmwasserplastik on deck, before starting its journey down the Rhine.
Join us on 25 June 2021 between 11 am and 12 pm along the board of the Rhine and experience the floating museum and its fountain sculpture on deck in action. Be a part of seeing the ship off when it weighs anchor and casts off.
The MS Evolutie will sail between the Dreirosenbrücke and the Mittlere Brücke. (The converted cargo ship will make an extra loop at the Kaserne Basel before leaving its home port.)?
The first stop on the «Museum Tinguely AHOY!» voyage is Paris, where the ship will dock in the Bassin de La Villette from 17-18 July 2021. It will visit a total of eleven locations in Europe and, together with local partner institutions, offer a multifaceted programme consisting of exhibitions, educational activities and performances by contemporary artists during two days.
After travelling through France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, the ship will return to its home port in time for Museum Tinguely's anniversary celebrations when it will welcome the public of Basel on board from 25-26 September 2021.
