Merci Seppi. A wonderful Gift
(17 November 2021 – 13 March 2022)
Museum Tinguely cordially invites you to the media preview
on Tuesday, 16 November 2021 at 10:30 am at Museum Tinguely in Basel.
You will be welcomed to the press preview by:
- Roland Wetzel, Director of Museum Tinguely
- Followed by a tour with Andres Pardey, curator of the exhibition, and Seppi Imhof.
Josef «Seppi» Imhof was Jean Tinguely’s assistant from 1971 until the artist’s death in 1991. As Tinguely’s probably closest and most constant companion during those years, he collected a large number of works on paper, including drawings, prints, collages, letters, sketches, and carefully executed watercolours – all of which attest to the intensity of the relationship between the artist and his assistant. This exhibition presents the collection of works on paper by Jean Tinguely that Seppi Imhof has kindly donated to the museum. Merci Seppi will run from 17 November 2021 until 13 March 2022.
The exhibition will be open for your exclusive viewing as of 10 am.
For further details on the exhibition, please see the attached press release. Press photos are available online.
Please register via email in order to attend the press preview by 11 November. Museum Tinguely is subject to the Covid certificate requirement and we kindly ask you to present your certificate and your identity card at the entrance.
You are also cordially invited to attend the official opening of the exhibition at 6:30 pm on that same day.
We are at your disposal should you require further information. Looking forward to hearing from you and welcoming you in Basel hopefully soon,
Yours sincerely,
Isabelle Beilfuss
