Enigma

With their new programme ENIGMA, the Basel vocal ensemble pourChœur and the percussion ensemble ET|ET explore the tensions between man and nature, art and mechanics, life and death. The audience is drawn into a world of mysteries and unsolved puzzles. The central piece of the concert are two compositions from Beat Furrer that give name to the programme. Without directly mentioning the decoding machine enigma, he describes a restless future in the words of Leonardo da Vinci, the mechanisation of the world. Victor Moser picks up the subject in his commissioned composition and dedicates the pieces to the question, if it is possible to attribute humaneness to a machine.

A mysterious concert by pourChoeur with works for Choir a cappella by Furrer,
Sandström, Smolka, Sibelius, Tormis, Vaughan Williams and Moser (UA).
