A captivating mix of jazz, rock and blues
Blues PEOPLE by US saxophonist Logan Richardson touches us with its lyrical depth and authentic, searchingly wistful tone, confronting historical injustices while also taking a critical look at the frenzy of modern life. There is no shortage of rough edges and a certain harshness and unsettling directness, giving the whole work the necessary edge and intensity. The African-American history of work songs and blues, which continues to influence jazz to this day, converges here with the pulsating, driving energy of the contemporary, enveloping the audience in an atmosphere of haunting, breathtaking beauty.
