Art education project with Stadtreinigung «Who, how, where, waste?»: Employees of Stadtreinigung Basel open up a different approach to the exhibition Territories of Waste and the topic of waste from their own perspective.

«Maintenance or Entertainment Art: Museum or Landfill?» guided tour with Daniel Altwegg, Sven Ammann, Marcel Bachmann and Tobias Egli, employees of Stadtreinigung Basel.

In several meetings at the museum, employees of Stadtreinigung Basel have engaged with artworks on the subject of waste. Now they give the museum visitors an insight into their experiences from everyday work and invite them to reflect in front of the artworks.

The entire ecosphere – the oceans, the air, our food, the soil, even the Antarctic – contains residues, particles and chemicals derived from our consumer culture. The extraction of raw materials leaves behind destroyed landscapes and toxic spoil. Waste is everywhere.
