The rainforest is an ancient ecosystem and home to a great number of Indigenous nations, as well as a large variety of animals and plants. Its biodiversity is immeasurable and yet its existence is threatened. How can art and culture highlight the ongoing destruction of the rainforest? What are the main causes and consequences of its destruction? And what measures and solutions can be put in place to better protect this biome?

Three topics, three perspectives, three cities—in cooperation with the Swiss foreign policy think tank foraus and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), CULTURESCAPES 2021 Amazonia is hosting three panel discussions on issues of particular relevance to the Amazon region. All three events will also be available online at the CULTURESCAPES DIGITAL SPACE.
