A multi-faceted fusion of the wealth of Pan-African ideas.

Saxophonist Marcus Strickland has been active on the New York jazz scene since the 1990s. He began producing beats himself and impressed people early on with his rhythmic sensibility. As a saxophonist, beat-maker and composer, he was part of a new generation of jazz musicians who primarily used the intersection of jazz and hip-hop as the source of their flourishing, creative music. With his project Twi-Life, Strickland released the album «The Universe’s Wildest Dream» at the beginning of the year. It focuses on the desire to become aware of the wonders of life on Earth. An intoxicating blend of eclectic Afrofuturistic music with a breathtaking urgency that only becomes apparent upon close listening.
