With his French band, US trumpeter Jim Rotondi convinces with a condensed passion that does not distinguish itself through volume but touches through concentrated depth. With his warm, full sound and lyrical, finely woven solos that are subtle and powerful at the same time, it is impossible to imagine the US and international scene without him.
Tenor saxophonist Michael Cheret is the perfect partner for him. Their joint parts sound as if they were cast from the same mould and their improvisations create a dynamic balance. The driving rhythm section rounds off this excellent formation and guarantees a wonderful listening experience.
