Lumpen Station orchestrates six radio broadcasts from Museum Tinguely in order to offer a series of talks in relation with the BANG BANG program. Small groups of three people will animate each broadcast. They are the «Talking Gazes», exchanging live their impressions, feelings, doubts, appreciations on the performances they have seen. The groups are composed by practitioners among diverse cultural disciplines et coming from different swiss regions. With this peculiar «intimate-distance» created by radio, Lumpen Station invites anyone to follow by streaming the discussions on lumpenstation.art

HYPER! is a performative installation that borrows strategies from both amusement parks and fashion shows. The performance is a synthetic landscape of oversized meat eating silver flowers and a neon green floor. It’s a fake nature where nothing is natural. Everything is HYPER! Hyper fetishized, hyper nature, hyper pop, hyper biology, hyper culture. The piece is a battle between the performers and the giant silver flowers. Who will eat who? Can everything be digested over time? 

The installation will be accessible before and after the performance.

How do energies keep flowing?
This question is discussed on the basis of a cross mapping of feminist projects by Katharina Steffen and Monika Dillier and sharpens the view for utopian horizons.

The food prepared in a subtle way is the prickly pear, Opuntia ficus-indica or Nopal, native to Mexico and a survival plant that Angela Marzullo uses in a symbolic way. The artist cultivates knowledge of this species, the prickly pear cactus - fica in popular Latin - which expresses both the fig tree and the female gender. In the past, this plant served to demarcate territorial plots. Today, the prickly pear is rather an invasive plant and a symbol of fertile feminism.

Carlotta Storelli lives in Locarno and specialises in the pedagogy of physical expression. She is also passionate about performative and gastronomic themes. 

Gracia Texidor lives in Madrid and is an actress, singer and singer/songwriter specialising in feminist revolutionary songs.

Die Ahnengalerie is a series of portraits of Swiss performers by Eliane Rutishauser. The aim is to make the current scene visible in its diversity. Eliane Rutishauser has been photographing performance for many years, from different angles and on different occasions: As an artist who performs herself, as a photographer who documents performance events and as an interested image-maker for her own projects. In the portrait series, Die Ahnengalerie, she is interested in making the performance scene visible and in the pose between representation and "showing oneself".

Echo & Verstärkung produces drawings, photographs, textiles and ceramics throughout the exhibition, parallel to the performances and events. At the end, these jewels and artistic products will be auctioned off to the highest bidders for the benefit of future projects. Together with the art historian Axel Gampp and the drag queen enJeanT., the Echo & Verstärkung team is looking forward to the bids and the dynamics.

Never Ending Pirouettes 
Les Reines Prochaines present a first part of their new concert programme, new songs and performative contributions - an interwoven story a journey through the fears, worries and hopes of our time. What does everyday racism have to do with nature, the edaphone with sex, the global economy with bodies?

"And the refugee crisis with museums, particulate matter with cultural justice and meat and flies with infernal lifestyles?"

Let's reflect together! 

Interested visitors are invited to experience the performances together, to record them and to document them in various media. Texts, sculptures, drawings, photos or products of a medium that you have brought with you will be created. The aim is to reflect on the events in the group. What have we seen, experienced, perceived?
Based on the performances, things are created that go into discussion, production and media distribution as raw products. These works will become part of the existing exhibition as a work in progress.

This proposal originates from what Angela Marzullo calls Raw Material – equal in length to the audio recording. At the same time, the concept invites a DJ from the electro or noise scene, who will perform a DJ set of loops and distorted sounds. The setting of the filming resembles the «Boiler Room» (the first DJ club filmed with a webcam), whose space will be filmed by a web-camera installed on a table tripod facing the DJ. 

Carlotta Storelli lives in Locarno and specialises in the teaching of body expression. Her passion also revolves around performative and gastronomic issues. 

Gracia Texidor, lives in Madrid and is an actress, singer and songwriter, specialising in feminist revolutionary songs.

«Embodied words» convenes a selection of works that practice the boundaries between performance and performativity. It looks into spoken words, lyrics, utterings and narratives in progress. It considers scripts, speech acts and public parole as sensual and embodied material.

«Embracing a Spanish Village» is one of the first two performative works ever purchased for the Kunstkredit Collection. It was first performed by Muda Mathis and Sus Zwick in 2011 at the «Acción!MAD» festival in the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía Madrid. A further performance took place in 2013 at the Stadtgalerie Progr, Bern, and at «Bone», Performance Art Festival, Schlachthaus Theater, Bern - there with the German title «Umarmung eines spanischen Dorfes II». Shortly after its transfer to the cantonal collection of the Kunstkredit, the work is now being re-enacted for the first time by other performers as part of BANG BANG.

elefant lecture concert. Exercises. Imagine the colour of your elefant. Did we say transitional object? So what is the biggest elephant in the room? Bang Bang the elephant knocks on the door. Direct transmission, of course. Of course, the transition object is also in our way. We don't do the Trojan elephant thing. Although that would be a nice build on four wheels and a super performance, so all the many elephants with the sword act out. Mission accomplished. We'd have our finger right in the story of the story. Do we serve the stuff in thimbles?

Two performers, also musicians, specialists and actresses, give each other commissions, are moved and do what they have always wanted to see. Why not use the big ladle to bread the other, transmit very quiet sounds, cut wood, keep your distance and get close to the cloth . . .

The work of Maria Hassabi, a choreographer of Cypriot origin, is a work that deals with slowness, immobility, the slow perception of space and time, and is mainly interested in the relationship between the performer, the public, and the context.

In each of her pieces, she seeks to prolong and stretch the time of the movements to such an extent that each body becomes a living sculpture. The atmosphere of slowness and calm thus created intensifies the sensitivity of both the spectators and the dancers to their environment. 

It is a meticulous work of great physical virtuosity. With this slowness of movement, the muscles tremble, the sweat flows, the breath becomes visible, micro-movements appear. They anchor the presence and awareness of the dancers and the audience in the present moment.

For BANG BANG, Maria Hassabi has created a solo piece in which she herself performs and which responds to the environment of the museum, its lighting conditions, and its architecture. 

The title of this performance refers on the one hand to the third part of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy and on the other hand to the typographical censorship of the word F***/Fuck. Angela Marzullo wrote the Letters from Hell during various sessions under the title Living (in) the Archives of Radical Feminism, which she will read out in the form of a logbook revealing intimate confessions. The title Chants de l'Enfer Féministe became Chants de l'Enfer F********.

Let's reflect together! 

Interested visitors are invited to experience the performances together, to record them and to document them in various media. Texts, sculptures, drawings, photos or products of a medium that you have brought with you will be created. The aim is to reflect on the events in the group. What have we seen, experienced, perceived?
Based on the performances, things are created that go into discussion, production and media distribution as raw products. These works will become part of the existing exhibition as a work in progress.

1. Aargau Journey - Places of Performance Art
A map is used to show some of the places in Aargau where performances have been shown in recent years. This reveals an organic network that knows no borders and operates far beyond the borders of Aargau.

When sound is reproduced, a translation always takes place. The signal of the sound source is shaped by material and spatial aspects and thus continues to shape the information. In the sound performance "Resonating | Translating", Samuel Tschudin focuses on the material aspects of this translation and creates something new out of discrepancy. To do this, he uses a specially designed gong, which translates his guitar playing into its resonance spectrum. In the dialogue between the instrumentalist and the source of the reproduction, meandering structures emerge that allow the subtle differences of the translation to emerge.

Together we are responsible for the idea, concept and realisation of our projects. After intensive research on the chosen themes, we develop and create an idiosyncratic vocabulary of movement, music and sound, language, space, images and objects out of improvisation.

We have been developing together associative experimental projects since 1997. All three of the team also work in different constellations, contexts and groups in the fields of music, art, performance and theatre and are also part of the group PARK (together with musician and artist Mario Marchisella).

From 1978 to 1981 Max Markus Frei attended the F+F School/Zurich. He staged various performances in 1981/82 under the pseudonym max-fax. Among others, in the gallery for young Swiss art Lucerne of Luigi Kurmann and in the art museum Lucerne, on the occasion of the Christmas exhibition 1981. He reports on the teaching blocks on performance at the experimental school with Peter Trachsel, Mike Hentz and Hermann Bohmert.

Lumpen Station orchestrates six radio broadcasts from Museum Tinguely in order to offer a series of talks in relation with the BANG BANG program. Small groups of three people will animate each broadcast. They are the «Talking Gazes», exchanging live their impressions, feelings, doubts, appreciations on the performances they have seen. The groups are composed by practitioners among diverse cultural disciplines et coming from different swiss regions. With this peculiar «intimate-distance» created by radio, Lumpen Station invites anyone to follow by streaming the discussions on lumpenstation.art

The gang is interested in the functions, gestures, and performance of audiences within art contexts. We explore the invisible, the unseen and collective moments in art spaces, the practice of viewing art as a form of mediation that is both mindful and absurd, playful and surrealist.

Anyone can be a part of the gang, and we do not know who is in charge, in fact perhaps you have already joined us. In any case, you can always meet us at our table, in the Tinguely Museum Park. The table is our socially elegant, shared studio space for developing our collective mind. It is not total anarchy, sometimes we make tea, with a special Bang Bang flavour. And there is always room for more (food, conversation, performance, art).

After 7 years of studying architecture, we share the growing sensation that what we work with invisibilises a whole history of women's practices. For this intervention, we would like to reinterpret this heritage, this knowledge that we miss. Working with textiles, weaving together, doing together. 

This engagement of bodies and know-how also allows us to engage in the transformation of our own environment. We would like to gather the conditions that would allow us to build new walls, within the walls of the museum. Walls that resemble rather than divide, translucent rather than opaque, moving, light, flexible.  

«La matière ne peut s’empêcher de se toucher dans une exploration infinie de son devenir impossible. Et en se touchant, elle déploie sa perversité aveugle afin de s’associer à l'altérité, dans un mouvement de déconstruction et de (re)configuration radicale d’elle-même. (...) The gang is interested in the functions, gestures, and performance of audiences within art contexts. We explore the invisible, the unseen and collective moments in art spaces, the practice of viewing art as a form of mediation that is both mindful and absurd, playful and surrealist.

Anyone can be a part of the gang, and we do not know who is in charge, in fact perhaps you have already joined us. In any case, you can always meet us at our table, in the Tinguely Museum Park. The table is our socially elegant, shared studio space for developing our collective mind. It is not total anarchy, sometimes we make tea, with a special Bang Bang flavour. And there is always room for more (food, conversation, performance, art).

A two-day workshop 6./7.8.22 together with the architects Noémie Zurbriggen, Morgane Hofstetter, Marion Fonjallaz, Louise Plassard, Ophélie Pinto

«Architecture in itself is social labor but also a form of labor to create commoning.» (Silvia Federici)

After 7 years of studying architecture, we share the growing sensation that what we work with invisibilises a whole history of women's practices. For this intervention, we would like to reinterpret this heritage, this knowledge that we miss. Working with textiles, weaving together, doing together. 

This engagement of bodies and know-how also allows us to engage in the transformation of our own environment. We would like to gather the conditions that would allow us to build new walls, within the walls of the museum. Walls that resemble rather than divide, translucent rather than opaque, moving, light, flexible.  

«La matière ne peut s’empêcher de se toucher dans une exploration infinie de son devenir impossible. Et en se touchant, elle déploie sa perversité aveugle afin de s’associer à l'altérité, dans un mouvement de déconstruction et de (re)configuration radicale d’elle-même. (...) To celebrate the diversity and abundance of the videographic contributions being part of the digital collection and to honor them in full length, the studio cinema of the exhibition will present an algorithmically calculated video program – non-stop performance videos. The random countdown puts the video documents, documentations and works into new, maybe unfamiliar contexts. At the same time, in contrast to the curated forms of presentation in the exhibition, the digital playback format reminds once again of the collecting process, which made the exhibition in its diversity possible in the first place.

Let's reflect together! 

Interested visitors are invited to experience the performances together, to record them and to document them in various media. Texts, sculptures, drawings, photos or products of a medium that you have brought with you will be created. The aim is to reflect on the events in the group. What have we seen, experienced, perceived?
Based on the performances, things are created that go into discussion, production and media distribution as raw products. These works will become part of the existing exhibition as a work in progress.

Lets talk about performances based on simple daily walking, language and dancing patterns performed in elaborated dependencies between the performers, the public, the space and the duality of absence and presence within the fragment of facing cameras

Angela Marzullo aka Makita writes:

I am working on audio recordings from the period when the practice of self-consciousness was developed in the 1970s through documents entitled "Trying to Make the Personal Political: Feminism and Consciousness-Raising". 
To this end, I began to reinterpret the tapes from the archive of "Rivolta Femminile" (1971-1972). It seemed important to me to re-transcribe all the texts and voices so that none would be lost. Therefore, I engaged feminist "sisters" for recording and transcription sessions.
 
The staging of the installation Living (in) the Archives of Radical Feminism stays true to the original action and creates a connection between the works, their forms and this reactivation work. This creates a horizontality that is peculiar to feminist discussion. 

Museum Tinguely is the fifth station of Living (in) the Archives of Radical Feminism.

Our criteria on fair production conditions in performance art with regard to a FAIRart - label:

1. distributive justice: distribution of funds (resources) equally to all participants.

2. discrimination: no differences in the distribution of funds and resources with regard to age, gender and skin colour, as well as status, education and level of experience.

3. democracy: democratic opinion and decision-making (everyone has a say).

Transparency: Effort, working time and distribution key are mutually disclosed. 5.

5. discussion about (un)necessary consumption of ecological resources (ecological footprint).

PANCH SOCIAL ELEGANCE presents:
Based on the book "Die Kunst ist eine Künstlerin - Basler Künstlerinnen der Gegenwart" by Maria Becker, published in 2021, Regina Simon and Ewa Felippi Metelska's video production aims at a flowing looking. Through minimal changes in the sequence of images, the single image is set in motion by means of breath, text, language and song. In dialogue with the artists depicted, the two artists create film sequences independently of each other. Video is the appropriate medium to give a voice to the participants of the SGBK - Swiss Society of Women Artists (professional association founded in Lausanne in 1902).

Regula Michell and Meret Wandeler have been working on the crochet object in pairs or together with guests once a month since May 2004. The object is made of pink acrylic wool. The crochet is done every month in a different place in public or private space. Visitors are cordially invited to join in the crocheting. Material available, no previous experience necessary.

The gang is interested in the functions, gestures, and performance of audiences within art contexts. We explore the invisible, the unseen and collective moments in art spaces, the practice of viewing art as a form of mediation that is both mindful and absurd, playful and surrealist.

Anyone can be a part of the gang, and we do not know who is in charge, in fact perhaps you have already joined us. In any case, you can always meet us at our table, in the Tinguely Museum Park. The table is our socially elegant, shared studio space for developing our collective mind. It is not total anarchy, sometimes we make tea, with a special Bang Bang flavour. And there is always room for more (food, conversation, performance, art).

In the pavilion in the park of the Museum Tinguely, we want to create further foundations for a FAIRart label by means of question and discussion rounds and invite important experts from art and culture.

A FAIRart label...
- to discuss the production and performance conditions for performance art with each other and to make them fairer.
- to have more transparency about the production and performance conditions for each other.
- to create more transparency in the production and performance conditions for the public.

Our criteria on fair production conditions in performance art with regard to a FAIRart - label:

1. distributive justice: distribution of funds (resources) equally to all participants.

2. discrimination: no differences in the distribution of funds and resources with regard to age, gender and skin colour, as well as status, education and level of experience.

3. democracy: democratic opinion and decision-making (everyone has a say).

Transparency: Effort, working time and distribution key are mutually disclosed. 5.

5. discussion about (un)necessary consumption of ecological resources (ecological footprint).

The Death Café is a place where we reflect together on the mystery and meaning of life and talk about death in a calm and open way. It is a free conversation, self-determined by the participants, about death and dying that inevitably touches on life and how we live. The Death Cafe is not a group for mourners.
Depending on the number of participants, we talk in groups of three or four about everything that moves us on the topic of death and dying. It is asked that you participate with an open mind and spirit, respecting all points of view and speaking and listening without an agenda, goal or theme.

LASUEMO is a regular meeting that takes place on the last Sunday of the month (4pm Thailand Time) in the digital courtyard of the project blog, which now hosts the LASUEMO project on the occasion of «Womanifesto 2020» and «Gathering 2021». We are creating an informal meeting place to exchange ideas, find ways to collaborate and gather a pool of interesting topics with everyone's input. It's about communication between artists, about our situation and about doing things together. A core group of participants from previous projects like «Womanifesto» and «Gatherings» is invited to each meeting. New people are added without any previous direct connection.

The performative project «Collaborating Waters» is a performance and exhibition that poetically explores water (politics), fluid states and (hydro)feminism. The artist Sarina Scheidegger is interested in the collaborative moment (of water), which runs through her artistic practice and forms itself again and again in new constellations. The performance «Collaborating Waters» will take place on Saturdays from 3-5 pm for the duration of the exhibition.

In Bern, St.Gallen, Geneva, Lausanne, Fribourg, Lucerne and Zurich, research meetings were held with local hosts. Protagonists from different scenes and generations gathered and remembered together. Large maps of the performance movements and activities in their abundance and diversity from the beginnings to the present day were drawn up in the form of regional maps. On the occasion of the project "Parla Palma: an exchange with artists from Ticino", PANCH Social Elegance invites a group of performers from Ticino. Together with them, a Ticino map will be created.

The reception committee in university form communicates the Social Elegance programme over and over again. Sometimes written live in large letters, sometimes recited, read from a long scroll. It walks with visitors across the meadow or sits as an info point in the park, still and silent.

The order of consideration after registration is reversed this time. True to the motto "The last will be first". No fixed programme will be written.

Performances can be registered/announced up to the start at 5 pm to keep it as open as possible for spontaneity and surprise. The duration of the performance can be very short, but no longer than two hours.

PANCH Social Elegance presents:

The project "Performance Art as Research" examines the differences and commonalities in terms of themes and production conditions of performance art in the respective countries in a discussion panel of seven performance artists from different international contexts - Finland, Poland, Turkey, Switzerland and Hungary. In addition, we want to discuss what performance understood as research means for the respective artist and how performance (research) could change current knowledge productions.

The performative project «Collaborating Waters» is a performance and exhibition that poetically explores water (politics), fluid states and (hydro)feminism. The artist Sarina Scheidegger is interested in the collaborative moment (of water), which runs through her artistic practice and forms itself again and again in new constellations. The performance «Collaborating Waters» will take place on Saturdays from 3-5 pm for the duration of the exhibition.

Markus Punky Kenner - Activist

MARKUS PUNKY KENNER
Markus Punky Kenner (born 1956) got involved in the Schindlergut youth centre in Zurich as a youngster in the 1970s and was active in various movements and struggles for free spaces from then on. He worked at the AJZ Zurich, Rote Fabrik, Quartierzentrum Kanzlei, Kasernenareal and Kunsthaus Aussersihl, and professionally for many years as a music editor at DRS 3, which was a jamming station at the time. As organiser of various music festivals such as Longstreet-Carnival and techno parties in Zurich and in the mountains. Musically, he is also involved in a wide range of activities as a DJ, from punk to jazz and electronics to worldwide music styles and the new Swiss folk music. He still runs the Panorama archive as an archivist and chronicler and collects material on youth culture, sex, crime, drugs & rock'n'roll, music, art & politics. Always interested in master theses, dissertations etc. on these topics. Doesn't have a website, but can be reached at kenner@gmx.ch.

YVONNE VOGEL
yvonne vogel was, is and always will be a dance, theatre, performance and improvisation artist and woman. short biography: 6 years of dance and performance training in basel, paris and new york. followed by 20 years of theatre tours in germany, austria and switzerland.

invitations to the festival of fools amsterdam 1981, to the theatrefestival in valencia spain1981 and to the impulsefestival through 8 german cities in 1992. to the theaterspektakel zürich1992. expeditions with the performance bekoffern to the documenta 1982, with my first solo in new york and florida 1985. etc... since 2000 yvonne vogel teaches at the zhdk zürcher hochschule der künste, as well as at the schule für gestaltung basel. at the moment she gives seminars and workshops about vocal presence and performance. together with heidi kämpfer she performs and improvises once a month in the dance workshop in zurich on the subject of dance theatre and improvisation with experienced women who want to continue to use their bodies and their playfulness without age limits and still want to be seen, heard and understood. Conclusion: «passing on some of my rich experience as a facilitator has replaced my immediate performance and desire to perform.»

(ort) Mittagstisch is usually based in Emmenbrücke/Lucerne, now and then it goes out under the label "(ort) goes everywhere". (ort) is Judith Huber's studio, but once a month it is also the venue for a lunch table and a performance evening. A stew is always cooked, with the exception of a second stew, plus coffee and dessert. As part of PANCH Social Elegance, Lilian Frei and Judith Huber cook together and invite people to the table!

In ritual theatre, the restriction to body language communication results in a kind of energy play in the interactions and, because of the duration of 6 hours, also with oneself. The "empty space" with only the human bodies in it is open to the public. A water bearer (guardian of time) fills up the kettle in the river, brings the water into the room and empties it at a predetermined place on the hour. The sounds of water are always the sign to resume the phase with external movement after a phase of rest.

PANCH Social Elegance presents:

Nadine Seeger and Simon Grossenbacher interweave and connect information on the work of Sarina Scheidegger and the documents of the BANG BANG collection with means of improvisation, body performance and spatial actions. They thus open up the works in an unusual way, on an emotional, intellectual and physical level. In analogy to a classical guided tour, they lead us through the exhibits. 

Nadine Seeger considers herself as a recipient and literally engages with the works with body and soul. She transforms the resonance that arises in the contemplation of the works and is inspired to improvise: movement and the voice are her tools. 

Simon Grossenbacher is an actor and speaker and moves in a performative context on the edges of the performing and visual arts. He has regularly performed a guided tour entitled Tinguely Trip at the Museum Tinguely for several years.

To celebrate the diversity and abundance of the videographic contributions being part of the digital collection and to honor them in full length, the studio cinema of the exhibition will present an algorithmically calculated video program – non-stop performance videos. The random countdown puts the video documents, documentations and works into new, maybe unfamiliar contexts. At the same time, in contrast to the curated forms of presentation in the exhibition, the digital playback format reminds once again of the collecting process, which made the exhibition in its diversity possible in the first place.

«Performance is dead! Long live performance!»[1]

By looking at performance art from Northern Macedonia (a relatively unknown and underrepresented art scene in Switzerland), we will focus on hybrid artistic practices. By this we mean works that employ participatory, performative, process-oriented and conceptual strategies. In this way, we will question our current understanding of performance art and re-examine its relationship to documentation and other disciplines.

Attention: the workshop was cancelled due to lack of registrations!

The workshops «Teewebe (tea web)» by Loom – Space for Fabric and textile Exploration, become part of the performative project Collaborating Waters by Sarina Scheidegger. Weaving together on the small looms developed by Loom combines Scheidegger's artistic interests of fabric as a gathering of different strands with Loom's textile experiments. In various formats, the Loom association creates an unconventional approach to a unique craft and thereby opens the space for a sensitised textile practice. The two workshops in the BANG BANG programme are dedicated to weaving tea, together fresh herbs and peels of citrus fruits are woven. Small fabrics are created, which through their transience are also reminiscent of the ephemeral moments of performance. Drinking tea as a ceremonial moment, ingesting and excreting liquids as well as making together are related to the themes of Collaborating Waters.

Hybrid Forms - Hybrid Practices in Performance Art

Natasha Nedelkova’s work is often collaborative and audio-visual. She prefers for her work to be available online and easy to follow. Her work is often repetitive and melodic, using sound and voice to question the repositioning of figures and discourse. Nedelkova aims to grasp and reconfigure social and political transitions. She often uses narration as a tool to reframe ideas.

Nedelkova’s projects contrast the digital allure of realism, resemblance, immateriality, totality and converge with the pleasures and complexities of computational, algorithmic and ludic digital culture.

The performative project «Collaborating Waters» is a performance and exhibition that poetically explores water (politics), fluid states and (hydro)feminism. The artist Sarina Scheidegger is interested in the collaborative moment (of water), which runs through her artistic practice and forms itself again and again in new constellations. The performance «Collaborating Waters» will take place on Saturdays from 3-5 pm for the duration of the exhibition.

Hybrid Forms - Hybrid Practices in Performance Art

Late to the Party: Macedonian Performance on Video since 1991 is a video programme of thirteen works that explore the intersections between performance and video in the Macedonian context since the country's independence in September 1991.

Bringing together little-shown footage from the 1990s and contemporary works by emerging artists, the video programme illustrates some of the themes underlying video performance over the last thirty years - nostalgia and memory, struggles against authoritarian politics, gender, queerness, the digital double and the post-digital body.

Followed by a conversation with John Blackwood in the Pavilion in the Park.

Ana Lazarevska explores themes of perception by using participatory practices within interactive installations and performance art. Through generated open stimulation and by challenging the senses, she will put an accent on the self-reflexive experience.

Placing the body-mind construct as an observer, she will introduce activities that are challenging, imaginative, and creative. The main questions she will explore in this work are closely connected to the principles of nature and the natural state of being.

For once, we want to forget the artist ego and show performances without naming names.

The order of consideration after registration is reversed this time. True to the motto "The last will be first". No fixed programme will be written.

Performances can be registered/announced up to the start at 5 pm to keep it as open as possible for spontaneity and surprise. The duration of the performance can be very short, but no longer than two hours.

Im zweiten, partizipativen Teil mündet die Performance in eine Cut'n Tea-Party, in welcher die Künstlerin das Publikum einlädt mit ihr das in der Performance entstandene Gebilde gemeinsam auszuschneiden. Dazu gibt es Tee und Gebäck.

When art remains mostly shrouded in (neo)colonial structures and thoughts, can performance art escape that? Can a banana escape colonialism and the market that controls the plantation?

This performative/interactive presentation emerges from the experience of a residency with Live Art Development Agency, London during which Parvez networked with many UK based art practitioners who work with similar questions and had even struggled against racism. Excerpts from the residency report will also be shared. Everyone is invited to participate and bring along their thoughts, no matter of which color.

The Roma Jam Session art collective is an artist and activist collective from Zurich. In their public performances and actions, the artists with a Roma foreground or background work to liquefy the fossilised image of Roma in our societies. The publication Morphing The Roma Label provides an insight into their artistic work. Morphing The Roma Label is published online by oncurating.org and can be purchased there as a book-on-demand.

The performative and participatory book presentation Morphing The Roma Label will be accompanied by saxophonist Muhi Tahiri. The participants of the panel are invited to a polyphonic social sculpture. The subsequent conversation will focus on the genesis of the publication, the performance practice of the collective and the processes of collaboration, motivation and networking.

Over ten days, maximum energy in minimum time and vice-versa will explore and shape time, space and body. The Fluid Academy invites performance artists of different generations; thus a pioneer of performance art — Ilija Šoškić — as well as eleven alumni of the Master of Contemporary Arts Practice of the Bern Academy of the Arts are teachers and learners at the same time.

Die Ahnengalerie is a series of portraits of Swiss performers by Eliane Rutishauser. The aim is to make the current scene visible in its diversity. Eliane Rutishauser has been photographing performance for many years, from different angles and on different occasions: As an artist who performs herself, as a photographer who documents performance events and as an interested image-maker for her own projects. In the portrait series, Die Ahnengalerie, she is interested in making the performance scene visible and in the pose between representation and "showing oneself".

FRIBOURG

Fribourg has a different history of the performance video scenes than Lausanne, Bern, Geneva, Basel, Lucerne and Zurich. Nevertheless, Jean Tinguely lived in the cradle of Fribourg's mental space, and it was with him that Niki de Saint Phalle developed the early performances. 

This mental space has also shaped further generations of performance. A continuous performance scene with Fribourg artists has certainly developed rather slowly, partly because Fribourg did not have a school for the arts (Kunstgewerbeschule / Hochschule der Künste) and the young talents left early for other cantons or went abroad.

Nevertheless, Fribourg was a lively melting pot of the performance and video scene as well as contemporary art in general. With Fri-Art since 1981 and Fri-Art Kunsthalle since 1990, with Bollwerk-Belluard, Fri-Son and Bad Bonn, contemporary art was vibrating. People inspired each other, also as young artists. The programme aims to present these mostly unknown sides of Fribourg's artistic creation across the generations:

From Michel Ritter to Jean-Daniel Berclaz, Jean-Damien Fleury, Isabelle Krieg, PAC, Marinka Limat to the youngest generation with Stirnimann-Stojanovic and Rebecca Solari with her band and entourage.

Mercedes Borgunska pours out a whole universe. Space- and time-filling, with maximum energy and maximum own time: «Sculpting time» with all senses. Movement in space, sound, body and time. Time bends into the «spherical shape of time».

Attached to ritual, precision and minimalism, Mélanie Gobet explores the material of the balloon that she stretches until it can no longer contain her breath.

The Wikipedia writing workshop draws on all the material, the exhibition, performances and mapping and can thus transfer information on performance art into the well-used digital encyclopaedia. Accompanied by Wikimedia Switzerland, Who writes his_tory? and Guter Grund, this workshop is open to interested parties.
 
Wikimedia Switzerland (WMCH) organises various writing workshops throughout the year, to which regular "Wikipedians" contribute as well as newcomers who are trying their hand at writing Wikipedia articles for the first time. Introductions to editing Wikipedia will make the work accessible to all.

Birk Weiberg will introduce Wikidata and show the possibilities of adding people and places to the Wiki data collection. And the feminist writing collective Who writes his_tory? with the artist initiative Guter Grund will discuss and accompany Wikipedia, researching and writing in groups.

Lumpen Station orchestrates six radio broadcasts from Museum Tinguely in order to offer a series of talks in relation with the BANG BANG program. Small groups of three people will animate each broadcast. They are the «Talking Gazes», exchanging live their impressions, feelings, doubts, appreciations on the performances they have seen. The groups are composed by practitioners among diverse cultural disciplines et coming from different swiss regions. With this peculiar «intimate-distance» created by radio, Lumpen Station invites anyone to follow by streaming the discussions on lumpenstation.art

The workshops «Teewebe (tea web)» by Loom – Space for Fabric and textile Exploration, become part of the performative project Collaborating Waters by Sarina Scheidegger. Weaving together on the small looms developed by Loom combines Scheidegger's artistic interests of fabric as a gathering of different strands with Loom's textile experiments. In various formats, the Loom association creates an unconventional approach to a unique craft and thereby opens the space for a sensitised textile practice. The two workshops in the BANG BANG programme are dedicated to weaving tea, together fresh herbs and peels of citrus fruits are woven. Small fabrics are created, which through their transience are also reminiscent of the ephemeral moments of performance. Drinking tea as a ceremonial moment, ingesting and excreting liquids as well as making together are related to the themes of Collaborating Waters.

Pain - variation is a repetitive, silent and somehow domestic performance. The work is about a very simple task done over and over and seeing how one’s perception may vary after a while; no matter what role you play in the piece, the notion of time passing will be materialized.

Vanessa Gageos, *1989, sound and performance artist, has been creating literally energetic fields of tension for years. She moves through humming magnetic and feedback current fields just as nimbly as she floats through high-frequency areas; her kingdom is poorly shielded cables as well as batteries with residual energy, which she painstakingly collects from disposal yards and supermarkets and forms her electrifying live performance ceremonies - LiPeZe for short - from: a composed coronation mass, oscillating between residual energy and eruption pathos.

You Are a Guest Now (2019-ongoing) is a film project between documentary and what the artist calls cine-performance, directed by British-Polish filmmaker Alex Baczyński-Jenkins. Composed of intimate moments in the lives of four artists and friends living in Warsaw, the film is a poetic account of queer life, friendship, performance and love, thriving despite and in resistance to the hostile state.

This film is part documentary, part fiction without a plot or narrative, instead, there is a plotting of an affective field in which friendship, intimacy, being-together are traced as ways of queer homemaking in hostile environments. The protagonists are Warsaw-based queer performers and the film follows their friendships and brings together moments that evoke experiences of home and home making, made manifest as queer pleasure, longing, belonging and resistance.

An update of the first European happening of 1960.
Museum Tinguely is currently showing an exhibition about an artist, writer and organiser of more than 70 artistic manifestations called Jean-Jaques Lebel. He belongs to the European generation of 68, within which he was also concerned with anti-fascism, anarchism and colonialism in Algeria. He is received as the first inventor of the happening in Europe. The performance is an attempt to update this reception in relation to Eurocentrism and white feminism together with art activists from a Black feminist context from Latin America.

This performance explores the political significance of contemporary art and in particular that of performance. Through the interweaving of live moments, theoretical discourses and videos, Darren Roshier will examine the political efficacy of his project.

Can one calculate the political significance of a performance? How can it be strengthened?  Does contemporary art - through its pursuit of autonomy - neutralise all possibilities of a political reach anchored in a social reality other than that of contemporary art.

If the big bang underlies the theory of everything, recently, evolutionary biologists have explained the appearance of life, and evolution, with a performative force. All life is performance. This, for me, is Bang, Bang. In an art context, although performance is a broad practice, it is something specific linked to discourse and its histories. It has been a driving force for change in art that allowed experiments and freedom. My interest in performance in art started from poetry, to which I was exposed at a very early age. Poetry comes from a time before the written word, is rhythm and meter and is best read aloud – performed. At art gymnasium I discovered Dada, which has remained an inspiration. As a student at the Art Academy in Sofia, I came across the early conceptual and feminist performances and made my first attempts at Sofia Underground, a festival during the 1990s dedicated to performance art that continues to this day and was a starting point for many artists of my generation for experimentation. Later, I went into media art, both as an artist and a curator, interested in this expanded and cross-disciplinary field where technology and performance meet. I would like to highlight two projects from my later curatorial practices focusing on performance and research, creating a platform for performance and performative practices, expanding the idea of exhibition-making: Opportunities for Outdoor Play? Playgrounds – New Spaces of Liberty (The Question of Form), constructed as a series of performative events and performances at Kunsthof in Zurich, an open-air exhibition space of ZHdK, ending in an international symposium in collaboration with the Bachelor of Fine Arts at ZHdK, an experimental format for that time in which I combined theoretical lectures with a multitude of performances. And On the Politics of Language and the Aesthetics of Affect – Thinking of Art Beyond Representation in the Contemporary Art Practices of a New Generation of Swiss Artists, a research project in which I focused on women artists with whom I was collaborating as part of my curatorial practices programming the independent art space Corner College in Zurich from 2014 to 2018, whose practices cross over between language and performance.

Lumpen Station orchestrates six radio broadcasts from Museum Tinguely in order to offer a series of talks in relation with the BANG BANG program. Small groups of three people will animate each broadcast. They are the «Talking Gazes», exchanging live their impressions, feelings, doubts, appreciations on the performances they have seen. The groups are composed by practitioners among diverse cultural disciplines et coming from different swiss regions. With this peculiar «intimate-distance» created by radio, Lumpen Station invites anyone to follow by streaming the discussions on lumpenstation.art

BEAST! explores bestiality as a philosophical and political concept by drawing on the stigma that historically frames queers and PoC as monstrous. Through readings of my recent romantic/radical poems accompanied by the lyrical vocals of Makeda Monet and the electronic music of Victor da Silva. BEAST! explores utopian queer passions, rituals for lost ones, dark corners to protect oneself in, erotic dreams, and… you’ll see. All the poems are from my last poetry book LE SANG! (BLOOD!) published by Lafayette Anticipations.

The world has changed. A new movement is taking over on earth. In order to ensure their own survival, more and more individuals are entering into symbiotic relationships with creatures foreign to their species. Homo Sapiens, too, senses the urgency of the next evolutionary step and gets involved in coexistence with other living beings. - "The Symbiotists" questions the anthropocentric world view and sketches a Kafkaesque future scenario in which individuality and community are renegotiated. With humour and musical experimentation, the deprivations and advantages that symbiotic coexistence entails are demonstrated.

An unusual couple takes their seats on a blue velvet carpet in precious silence. Carefully and methodically, the woman paints first her partner and then herself until even the smallest trace of their respective identities is smothered. Pièce distinguée Nº45 borrows from the rituals of the performing arts and the power of painting, in a subtle game of erasing the identities of its protagonists.

Performative artistic action as a place of encounter and confrontation

The video programme is dedicated to performance works that create various forms of encounter and confrontation - encounters with the expansion of the body and its boundaries, with the poetry of the more-than-human, with the expendabilities of existence as an artist or with procrastination as an (un)bearable constant of existence; confrontation with the themes of health as a matter of luck, discrimination through stereotypical attributions or with mechanisms of belonging and demarcation.

The American pianist Harvey Diamond is - wrongly - a rather unknown quantity.
Despite his collaborations with such illustrious names as Dave Liebman or Art Farmer, he has remained a hidden but nonetheless top-class jewel of the Boston jazz scene over all these years. With his elastic, expressive, energetic and finely defined playing, he demonstrates his class from the very first notes; in his very own, unlimited swinging way, he conjures up undreamt-of timbres and moods from the keys. In his three fellow musicians he has allies who deliver their strong individual contributions to the flawless aesthetics of the sound with grandeur.

This performance playfully moves away from measured recognition, towards the ungrounded and unbounded. What kind of orientation is the one that puts order and certitude behind it, spills itself and is prone to slipping?

Through text, material and song, Teem is an experiment in abstraction, mis/recognition and joy.

It is about experimenting with different relational systems - organised and chaotic - evoking the spaces occupied by our bodies and the human and non-human bodies around us, and investigating what they might mean to each other.

Where do our limitations of race and gender also lie? How do the boundaries between them dissolve, impact and expose themselves and what porosities can be revealed.

The composer and sound artist Leo Hofmann creates unconventional, intimate listening situations and presents "Bias Dialogs", a performance in which cushions whisper, walls sing and sound waves play hide and seek.

In "Bias Dialogs", a fictitious conversation between a performer and a virtual voice assistant develops into a polyphony of speaking and singing voices. Between fluffy latex cushions, filigree swan-neck microphones and delicate sound waves, between touches and movements, the actors' relationships are constantly transformed. In a structure of echoes, imitation and repetition, the performance circles around themes such as memory, tactility, strangeness and familiarity, tracing resonances of space, time, animate and inanimate things.

Texts, sculptures, drawings, photos or products of a medium that you have brought with you will be created. The aim is to reflect on the events in the group. What have we seen, experienced, perceived?
Based on the performances, things are created that go into discussion, production and media distribution as raw products. These works will become part of the existing exhibition as a work in progress.

Die Ahnengalerie is a series of portraits of Swiss performers by Eliane Rutishauser. The aim is to make the current scene visible in its diversity. Eliane Rutishauser has been photographing performance for many years, from different angles and on different occasions: As an artist who performs herself, as a photographer who documents performance events and as an interested image-maker for her own projects. In the portrait series, Die Ahnengalerie, she is interested in making the performance scene visible and in the pose between representation and "showing oneself".

The programme of video performances - Geneva region - reflects a variety of practices by emerging artists. Individual universes can be discovered between narratives, body actions, interventions in public space and collective or multidisciplinary creations. The video pieces reflect the possible dialogues between the camera and the living material of performance, from the point of view of frontal shots, composed traces, moving face-to-face situations or intimate retreats.

Lumpen Station orchestrates six radio broadcasts from Museum Tinguely in order to offer a series of talks in relation with the BANG BANG program. Small groups of three people will animate each broadcast. They are the «Talking Gazes», exchanging live their impressions, feelings, doubts, appreciations on the performances they have seen. The groups are composed by practitioners among diverse cultural disciplines et coming from different swiss regions. With this peculiar «intimate-distance» created by radio, Lumpen Station invites anyone to follow by streaming the discussions on lumpenstation.art

Paul Maheke is an artist working in performance, video, sculpture, and installation. His performances are predominantly based in dance and movement, often accompanied by poetic voice-overs or scripts; they explore the ways that bodies can act as archives of history and personal experience.

A fire circle for a public hearing develops Maheke’s ongoing engagement with the potential of the body as an archive; the performance addresses how history, memory, and identity are formed. In the work, three performers channel different characters as if possessed by ghostly entities. Their movements and dialogue explore hypervisibility and erasure as they play out in historical marginalization and contemporary political movements.

The Talks series kicks off with a conversation between Annika Hossain (SAPA) and Michael Hiltbrunner (ZHDK). Together, the saga, looking back, taking note of the past, elegant access to archives and the basis for an alert and active present will be created.

About the drying up and how it announces itself.

The 9 artists of the collective DARTS (disappearing artists) have been dealing with a single problem for 9 years: Do we really want to produce something or are we already art enough? On their branching research path, they have meanwhile arrived at so-called ultimate questions. In their new work, it becomes visible how the group deals with the collective panic that seized them when they watched one of their own videos.

The performance In touch with some P's is a tribute to artists who shaped the beginnings of performance art (60s to 80s) in Switzerland. Among others, Groupe Ecart, Eva Fuhrer, Janet Haufler, Norbert Klassen, Manon, Ruedi Schill and Anna Winteler are to be mentioned. Gisela Hochuli refers to selected works and develops an independent performance with them.

Different narratives about the beginnings of performance art, a translocal movement, are the focus of this conference. Leading international scholars and artists will examine the strategies that museums, galleries, as well as historians and artists have used to reconstruct and present the beginnings of this field of art and activism. The conference accompanies the exhibition BANG BANG, which reviews the history of performance art in Switzerland and embeds it in a feminist, queer and activist perspective.
The panels on the first day of the conference are dedicated to the beginnings and narratives of performance art projects in the former Yugoslavia, Hungary, Israel, Portugal, the UK, Scotland and Switzerland, which have not yet been thoroughly researched. Another point is the focus on networks and networking strategies that are essential for performance art until today - between artists and curators, artists and activists, artists and friends, artists and researchers, and the importance of performance art projects in the 1960s and 70s for civil society, as well as their themes, e.g. political activism, reclaiming the street, living conditions, critique of gender roles, feminist work, education, art schools.

An improvised criss-crossed performance as a lecture as a performance as a lecture.

This announcement is a silent promise that could refer to an autobiographical journey. A journey in search of traces of the inner police in me, in us, of the «politics» of choreography and the fever for improvisation. These could be read que(e)r and crossed with current activist and artist movements of the past and present.

There would be a prepared subtext that would be delivered at a table, with microphone and gestures. How would this lecture compose itself as a performance and the performance as a lecture? It would be full of gaps and pitfalls.
