Judith Wegmann «Le souffle du temps II - réflexion»

In 2017, Judith Wegmann released «le souffle du temps» (“the breath of time”) on HatHut Records, her internationally acclaimed solo album comprising 10 conceptual improvisations. More recently, the album has been adapted by the pianist through her commissioning of 7 Swiss composers: Hans Koch, Daniel Andres, Luzia von Wyl, Tobias Meier, Cyrill Lim, Edu Haubensak and Kevin Juillerat to each compose a work “reflecting” the 2017-released CD.

The symposium at Museum Tinguely will give an interdisciplinary impression of the many fields of human experience affected by taste. Contributions from art and cultural history, but especially from the natural sciences and humanities, will illuminate aspects of our gustatory perception in the course of this two-day event.

Ying-Hsueh Chen «Raw Elegance: Percussion and Architecture»

The Taiwanese-Danish percussionist has a strikingly intense stage presence. In her architectural solo percussion programme she will present works by Iannis Xenakis, James Tenneys, Pierluigi Billone, and her improvisation with the architect of the museum Mario Botta.

Lonnie Holley «A special night at the museum»

Already well known in the art scene for his found objects, sculptures, paintings and installations, Lonnie Holley released his first musical album only at the age of 62. His music moves with a mixture of gospel, blues, ambient and electronica. The concert is based on his 2018 album MITH. However, his performances are always different, as he never plays a song twice in the same way.

Moritz Ernst «Das Cembalo in der Moderne»

The cembalo plays a peripheral role in New Music, even though leading modernist composers oftenfocussed on this fascinating instrument. The evening is devoted to works by Henry Cowell, Kent Olofsson, Minas Boarboudakis, Miklos Maros and Iannis Xenakis, attempting to build a musical bridge into the twenty-first century.
