It's The Real Thing – Basel Documentary Platform (25 – 29 March 2026) is a so-called festival of documentary and propaganda arts. Unique in Europe in its focus, the festival highlights the diverse ways in which we represent and construct reality. In the fifth edition of the festival, It's The Real Thing and Museum Tinguely are jointly presenting the film double feature The Watchman and The Dam by Lebanese artist Ali Cherri, the performance The Metamorphosis as well as the Kafka installation The vermin by Manuel Gerst, and the discussion Art and Destruction.

>> Film screenings: Ali Cherri, The Watchman and The Dam, followed by a discussion with the artist.

>> Theatre/performance: Manuel Gerst, The Metamorphosis, based on Kafka, at the Kaserne Basel.

29.03.26, 3:30 pm
>> Return of the transformed Beetle to the museum, followed by a talk on art and destruction.
