Enigma

With their new programme ENIGMA, the Basel vocal ensemble pourChœur and the percussion ensemble ET|ET explore the tensions between man and nature, art and mechanics, life and death. The audience is drawn into a world of mysteries and unsolved puzzles. The central piece of the concert are two compositions from Beat Furrer that give name to the programme. Without directly mentioning the decoding machine enigma, he describes a restless future in the words of Leonardo da Vinci, the mechanisation of the world. Victor Moser picks up the subject in his commissioned composition and dedicates the pieces to the question, if it is possible to attribute humaneness to a machine.

A mysterious concert by pourChoeur with works for Choir a cappella by Furrer,
Sandström, Smolka, Sibelius, Tormis, Vaughan Williams and Moser (UA).

Percussion ensemble:
Ensemble This Ensemble That

Musical direction:
Marco Beltrani, Samuel Strub

Boxeo 34: Boxing and Culture

Switzerland - Poland:

Is a unique event which combines boxing and culture in a very special way. The project was launched in Basel in 2001 by cultural and boxing friends and takes place several times a year. The 34th edition of the Boxeo is a collaboration with the Museum Tinguely, the cultural series Culturescapes and the Boxclub Basel within the theme series Poland.
The main event on Saturday in the Museum Tinguely is marked by a concentrated female power. Two renowned artists are responsible for the cultural section. The soprano and "Master of Arts" Eleonora Wojnar sings Frederic Chopin songs, accompanied on the piano by the award-winning Joanna Krauze. In the boxing ring, Basel´s first female professional boxer Gabi BALBOA Timar will dispute another fight on her way to the title. Aniya Seki, the most successful Swiss professional boxer and three-time world champion from Bern disputes her 43rd fight. Also for the Boxclub Basel, Loris Barberio from Soulz / France will be competing in his first professional fight. The sportive part of the Boxeo is completed by some exciting relay fights between Boxclub Basel and Box Club Kraukau. In the ring will also be the experienced entertainer Vladimir Baumann, who will accompany the Boxeo as a ring speaker. A wonderful load of culture and sport concentrated in the ring, with the incredible masterpiece of Jean Tinguely in the background. I am happy to welcome you to the Ring.

Costs: Adults 25.- CHF / Teenagers 15.-  CHF
